Sometime in March of 2015, I received an invitation from one of my aunts who lives in Virginia to attend a convention later in the year, in July. It would be an opportunity to meet my relatives, friends and family, some of whom I hadn’t met in ages. The convention was at a small town 30 minutes from Washington DC and it is driveable from where I live. So I thought it didn’t require much planning. Also, as you may know I had plans of going to Montreal in June, which were kind of set in stone by then. Anyway, the interesting part of this story is not in the beginning but how it ended up in me making my first 911 call.

This is going to be a short post. I have often found myself trying to share music with people who don’t have Apple Music subscription (or any other streaming music service for that matter). I’m listening to a song, I like it and I want to share it. Just use the built-in share sheet right? No, that gives the iTunes link which is not very useful in this premise. Enter Workflow (Direct Link).

Growing up, I used to be glued to the TV on F1 weekends. If I knew ahead of time that I would not be able to watch then I would assign my mom and/or one of my aunts to watch it for me. When I got back home they would then tell me who1 finished in what position. I have always wanted to attend at least one race since the first day I was introduced to F1 by my sport enthusiast dad.

  1. Well, sometimes they would just know the three letter codes for the driver. Like “RAI” for Kimi Raikönnen, “ALO” for Fernando Alonso etc. My aunt would write these down and my mom would memorize the standings so that they didn’t forget anything when reporting the results to me. It’s funny when I think about it now. :)

About a year ago, I was waiting at the SFO1 airport for my flight to MAO. To say that I was excited would be the understatement of the year. I was already thinking about the cool things I had planned for the trip. The itinerary was something like this: spend the first two days in the Amazon, meet a friend of mine in São Paulo, watch ARG v SUI there, spend the next 4 days in Rio while also attending FRA v GER at the Maracanã and then head back.

  1. There is pretty good WiFi there. That was a welcome bonus for me. I’m addicted to internet. I will probably survive without food and water but not without internet. Usually at the aiports you come across these pesky gateways which ask for all but your DNA samples just to give you access to a 128kBps connection on one device for 15 minutes, if that. This is when you are lucky and you are in a country where you can receive a text message to enter the one time security code to get access to the said WiFi connection. Or they give you an option of getting the code through email for which you needed the connection in the first place.

Few days ago while researching about a topic I found myself with a ton of tabs open in Safari. I then wanted to share the said tabs with someone else. Here is how I did it. 1

  1. There are a number of ways to do this. You can use extensions for one. Or, if you are using Chrome, you can use Session Buddy
